Up Close and Personal

Alex is a native of Hempfield Township who has wanted to be an attorney since middle school. He focuses his practice in commercial litigation, federal constitutional claims under Section 1983, and tort law. Alex developed a strong understanding of federal trial courts through his work as a judicial law clerk at the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and as a federal extern to Western District Chief Judge Joy Flowers Conti in between his first and second years of law school. During his time as a federal law clerk, he wrote for most of the Western District judges on a wide-swath of federal civil matters, including: employment discrimination, forum selection clauses, Monell claims, insurance, the attorney-client privilege, and the work-product doctrine. Alex prides himself on writing clear, engaging, and persuasive legal arguments that judges will want to read.

Alex has a strong track record of academic success. He graduated from Grove City College in three years with highest honors in political science. While at Grove City, Alex ran cross country, lettered twice, and was recognized as the men's cross country team's most improved runner for the 2012 season. He then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland. There, he made the law review, won a spot on the mock trial team, and spent significant time helping the less fortunate through Case Western's civil litigation clinic.


Alex's interests growing up in the Hempfield Area School District were diverse: he was a varsity level cross country runner; ran middle distance events in track and field; qualified for national speech and debate tournaments in Congressional-style debate; played most of the percussion instruments; earned the Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts; and spent countless weekends hunting with his grandfather. When he is not doing legal work, Alex runs, engages in local politics, follows professional baseball, and hunts.
